Our lab thrives on personal freedom

Central to our lab’s culture is an appreciation for different backgrounds, cultural identities, family origins, and our respect for identified gender, race, faith, and sexuality.  We also acknowledge the barriers that precedent has created for underrepresented communities, and we actively welcome those who have faced institutional mechanisms of exclusion.

As a mentor, I embrace the fact that I will always be learning to better understand and enable the individuals in my lab.  I am dedicated to meeting each lab member where they’re at and working with them to fully embody their abilities and ideas.  At the heart of my leadership is an uncompromising commitment to create an environment that is authentic, respectful, and empowering.
